Kyoto Sushi & Wok in Konstanz

I do not usually rate on the presentation of the place alone but I called this place for information (because Covid changed a lot of things) and mainly wanted to know if they were still doing dine in and/or if they require reservations for dine in. I spoke with the most uninterested/rude person on the phone. The call didn’t end badly, necessarily, but the associate did hang up without replying after I thanked them for the info. Not a huge deal, we will just be looking for another Japanese Steakhouse to try in the area. The choice was made for me. :)

Great sushi - glasses were dirty. Staff was great. Kitchen items weren’t great. Hibachi was doable.

Right up there at the top... Everything was fresh and delicious, and prepped beautifully. Sat at the sushi bar. Good atmosphere watching for sushi chefs. First time visit and will not be the last.

Went for my daughter's bday aug of 2020. Was not the quality and attention to guests that I remembered from years prior. Meat was tough and lacked seasoning. We were a party of 7 and we all agreed that it was not good and were very disappointed. We will not be returning unfortunately.

Son's birthday, he had a wonderful time. The chef was top notch and had a great attitude.

Our chef, Joe, was excellent! He was very entertaining and he cooked our food to perfection.

The food was great and the chef that prepared our food at the hibachi grill was entertaining and funny, we got there an hour before close and got seated right away, the waiter was ok. But when we were eating they started cleaning the grill right in front of us and we didnt like that we felt it was rude and unsanitary. But the food was awesome it was our first time and we will be going back in the daytime!

Pretty typical Japanese steakhouse. Went on a weekday night. They were busy but thankfully the wait was short. There are plenty of cooktops. Pricing was reasonable for a family of 5. The cook did an excellent job without alot of flair. I've been to several places like this, and most are the same. Sushi bar was backed up so we were not able to order that. Didnt want to wait until the end of the meal for sushi which is what we were told. Kyoto doesn't really stand out good or bad. I would go there again, but only because a family member wanted hibachi for dinner.

The best in OP! The salmon teriyaki dinner is amazing.

Good rolls but almost all of them were fried or tempura based. They had only a handful of actual, raw fish, sushi rolls. Their sashimi was fresh for popular fish like salmon and tuna but the more rare ones were a bit aged (mackerel and squid). That could be COVID based but regardless they've got good price points and for the area are respectable. Their establishment is also very well decorated, clean, and the staff seemed friendly on first visit. I'd recommend this place for an easy sushi experience but this won't stand up against more traditional or serious stores. I'll revise post COVID to see if their sashimi improves across the board, but as I said it was pretty good on the more common fish. EDIT: I've gone several times since my first review. I think their sashimi is very thin, it doesn't come close to comparable with a place like Prime Sushi just down a few blocks. My assessment of their rolls stands. I've also had their tonkatsu and it was bad, I'd advise caution on the non-sushi side of the menu. All in all, I think this is a 4/5 Kansas City Missouri Sushi place, it does not compare favorably to any major sushi place in any other major city, but for here it's doable. However I recommend Prime Sushi over this place if you can manage it.

Good atmosphere, good food, chef was entertaining. Very busy on a Saturday night. We didn't hear our name because they didn't pronounce it right... so our 30 minute wait turned into an hour after they marked us off.

It was ok. Not fabulous. We did Hibachi. I had the rib eye, my daughter had filey and lobster, my son and his girlfriend had chicken. The lobster was the most disappointing, overcooked and tough.

Great food a little long wait but it was a new years .. great.

Our neighbor guest ordered steak we ordered filet mignon our grill master mixed all the meat together and served everyone very disappointed

I love Kyoto and I've been there many times. We've spent many birthdays there too. However, the service was absolutely the worst today. This was the first time we went out to eat since Covid started in March. We did hibachi because it's my daughter's 10th birthday. It's always a fun show. Today was a cheesy fun show as well. However, as soon as the food was on our plate, chef walked away. Our server showed up and asked if we need to go boxed. My daughter only ate 1/5 of her food. It was 4:30pm Saturday night. There were other tables got there before us and they were atill eating. Why rush us? I hate been rushed at restaurants especially when there's no line out of the door. Kyoto I love you but not tonight.

Amazing sushi but the server was at our table twice. Once to take our order, and once to give us the check.

I love going during sushi happy hour. Great prices with good rolls. The crazy monkey roll is one of my favorites, and the miso soup is nice to prepare you for the meal.

The food was delicious. The whole atmosphere is amazingly delightful.

This place was excellent. Nothing beats good food right around the corner from home. Expectations were exceeded by far. The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and with large portions, we have leftovers for days! The drinks were yummy as well. We will definitely be back soon!
